Working under general supervision, incumbent performs routine to complex magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures for diagnostic purposes in accordance with established guidelines and MRI protocols. Requires advanced knowledge of radiologic technology and magnetic resonance imaging. Acts as a MRI subject matter expert and assists other technicians as needed. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety.
Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Follows protocols specified by the Radiologist. Administers contrast media per protocol. Educates patient, collects patient history, communicates patient information to the Radiologist, and prepares patient for procedure. Enters complex data into the computer system. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical quality and image quality. Troubleshoots and resolves MRI-related PACS issues.
Depending on experience, the selected candidate will be hired at the MRI Tech or Sr. MRI Tech level.
Graduate of a school of radiologic technology or MRI Technology program.
Registered Technologist for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) issued by ARRT or ARMRIT.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Recent experience in a similar role and setting or new graduate of an approved MRI technology program.
Knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications.
Thorough understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.
Six (6) months of recent relevant experience.
Previous hospital experience.

Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
