Position SummaryThe College of Education at Michigan State University invites applications for a fixed-term academic specialist position as Coordinator for the Urban Educator Cohort Program (UECP) in the Department of Teacher Education. This position is a full-time appointment on a 12-month basis. The successful candidate will perform the following job duties and responsibilities:
Working with UECP Director on program evaluation and assessment.
While not a component of the UECP, the position will also include designing and implementing the Chicago Pre-Internship trip with the Chicago Area Internship Coordinator, which is open to all juniors and seniors in the teacher preparation program. Additionally, the position may include teaching responsibilities in the teacher preparation program. Required DegreeMasters Desired DegreeDoctorate Minimum RequirementsCandidates must have experience in planning and executing programs focused on student success; program research and evaluation; experience facilitating workshops; strong communication skills; demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse learners; skills collaborating with teachers, principals, and community partners in urban contexts. Desired QualificationsExperience working with MSU partner schools; experience working with urban communities; experience planning events; experience with data management and/or evaluation; experience using technology to solve problems.
