Housed within the Division of Equity & Inclusion, the Center for Educational Partnerships (CEP) is the primary unit on campus charged with developing and implementing programs and strategies to improve academic preparation, expand educational opportunities, and ensure access to higher education and to the University of California for low-income and educationally-disadvantaged students.
Working in partnership with over 125 schools and 68 California community colleges each year, CEP improves academic achievement and expands post-secondary educational opportunities for students who face significant barriers to college. CEP's programs help young people overcome educational and financial barriers to prepare for and be accepted at two- or four-year colleges. Eleven programs provide services free-of-charge to well over 75,000 students annually including summer programs that give hundreds of students academic enrichment while some actually experience student life at the campus of the University of California in Berkeley. CEP's school-wide/systemic change programs help build college-going cultures in schools and districts by serving teachers, counselors, administrators and families. Destination College Advising Corps (DCAC) is a University of California-sponsored program within CEP that prepares high school students from under-resourced communities for admission to the University of California and other colleges and universities. Through the work of College Advising Fellows, DCAC completes its mission by offering intensive college access services, providing timely college preparation information and advising, and supporting our students, families, schools and communities. Services offered include academic advising, whole school events and activities, and information dissemination to students, schools, and families on the educational and social benefits of post-secondary education throughout California.
The Destination College Advising Corps (DCAC) Regional Manager oversees programs and services to students and high schools; coordinates outreach efforts in the region; provides coaching, professional development and guidance to the College Adviser Fellows; establishes, develops, and maintains networks and partnerships with schools, school districts, colleges and universities, and local youth service organizations; and assists with potential program expansion efforts and contracts in the region. Written and verbal assignments are given by the DCAC Co-Directors. The incumbent is expected to perform assignments with a high degree of autonomy relying on industry expertise to ensure the best results. Regular communication and consultation with school administrators is required. It is also expected that the DCAC Regional Manager will maintain close communication and work in collaboration with colleagues in the Destination College Advising Corps (DCAC) and the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP), including the DCAC Program Manager and supporting administrative team.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
Provides leadership for the design and implementation of college preparation services and culture to a district and/or region, such as training K-14 school district faculty and staff.
Manages program components and activity budgets.
Establishes and develops collaborative relationships with partner districts and high schools including school/district administrators/staff and school site counselors, faculty, and staff.
Develops partnerships/networks with local higher education institutions, college access programs, and community-based organizations by establishing collaborative activities targeting region, increasing collaborative efforts between partners, etc.
Plans and organizes a set of district-wide or regional college-going events and activities such as coordinating district-wide college fairs, developing college-going curriculum, etc.
Provides professional development in district and/or region to enhance college prep advising and develop schools' college-going culture, etc.
Provides leadership in strategic and program planning efforts to DCAC.
Provides and supports fund development and program marketing efforts including proposal writing, program sponsorships, donor development, and media outreach.
REGIONAL MANAGER, TEAM LEADER AND TRAINING
Assists in recruitment and selection of College Adviser Fellows. Assists in recruitment and hiring of temporary and/or professional staff. Trains and serves as a team lead of adviser fellows, temporary, and/or professional staff. Serves as Regional Manager for College Adviser Fellows. Provides training, professional development, and guidance for College Adviser Fellows. Makes recommendations and provides feedback on Adviser Fellow and Program Coordinator performance. Evaluates and makes recommendations for the training program. Designs and implements region-specific training and team meetings.
COMMUNICATION AND REPORTING
Organizes meetings with school site personnel and/or service providers regarding major whole school/district/regional efforts. Produces program reports and evaluations as assigned by the Director. Collects, analyzes, and evaluates student enrollment, service, and outcomes data. Maintains constant communication with Adviser Fellows (via email, phone, or physically).
Provides complex academic advising. Develops customized student academic plans to ensure post-secondary admission eligibility. Advocates for students and parents. Provides information, resources, and opportunities to College Adviser Fellows on graduate school, career exploration, and other professional development topics.
Serves on department, campus, and external committees; workgroups; and coordinating bodies as appropriate.

Comprehensive experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.
Advanced knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies.
Advanced knowledge of K-12 and higher education institutions, admissions and financial aid and scholarship requirements, and matriculation processes.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts. Ability to develop outreach programs, and design effective materials.
Advanced knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements.
Knowledge of state and national education policies and current education theories.
High-level skills in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
Advanced knowledge of youth and adolescent development theory, including issues facing low-income, first generation and urban youth.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of K-12 and higher education policies and issues, assesses their impact on program strategies, disseminates information to school-site and district personnel.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives.
Ability to prioritize work assignments and manage multiple critical projects with deadlines. Strong project management skills.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Mandated Reporting certification will be required upon hire.
Advanced knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population. Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status.
Master's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary range of the position is $70,000.00 - $81,500.00, commensurate with experience.
