The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences is hiring a full-time cancer genetic counselor to join 15 other GCs at the School of Medicine. This is a faculty position at the rank of Instructor. As always, faculty positions involve an invigorating combination of clinical work, research and teaching. This GC will provide cancer genetic counseling services at a nearby community hospital but will be employed by the medical school.
As the University of Maryland School of Medicine is home to the Masters in Genetic Counseling Training Program, there will be myriad opportunities to participate in the education of genetic counseling students through lecturing, serving as a mentor in independent study projects, supervising students in clinical rotations, proctoring oral examinations, etc. The GC team also participates in the genetics training of medical students, residents, fellows, nursing students, dental students, and physical therapy students.
