Management of all aspects of the traditional undergraduate campus residence life including the supervision of residence hall staff (student and professional staff). The Dean of Residence Life has responsibility for supervision of hall programming, facilities management, housing processes, and communication of community expectations along with management of the campus conduct process. Additional opportunities for supervisory responsibilities may include student activities and orientation.

Sets goals, objectives and manages available resources to achieve objectives, without need for frequent follow up.
Partners with faculty and staff to develop departmental vision and accomplish goals.
Develops, maintains and executes short- and long-term strategic plans for overall residence life program, in personnel, program and facilities.
Recruits, selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates residence life staff, and the potential for additional supervisory departments that may include orientation and activities.
Regularly conducts effective meetings and training sessions.
Works with Administrative Assistant for Student Development in housing management.
Provides organizational leadership for residence hall programming.
Develops strategies for and implement ways to encourage personnel and professional development of staff.
Manages overall housing process, including setting policies, housing sign-ups and assignments, check-in and check-out process, key distribution and collection, room changes, room condition reports, key replacements and fines for lost keys, needed maintenance and improvements reports, informational meetings with staff, and supervision of the Residence Life budget. Manages housing process for university owned apartments.
Monitors residence hall staffs’ enforcement of Student Handbook regulations.
Manages student conduct.
Communicates with JBU community, including faculty and staff, concerning mission and objectives of Residence Life program. Assists with production of communication materials for department, including student handbook.
Takes an active role in routine meetings, goals, and tasks for Student Development Department.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience
Three or more years experience in Residence Life leadership.
Strong communications skills, both oral and written. Strong interpersonal/relational skills.
