Support the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs
Work closely with Director of Academic Advising, the Director of the Career Center and Collegiate Life staff to create holistic student services for the 5,500 undergraduates in CSE. Currently supervise 9 FT employees and numerous student employees. Resource for faculty and departments on various issues regarding undergraduates in the college.
International Programs – Liaison with LAC, GPS, International Partners, etc. Serve on the LACAC, attend national and international conferences supporting STEM students having a global experience. Supervise 2 FT professionals supporting outbound and inbound international students. Seek funding for faculty to start up seminars, and travel grants and scholarships for students to participate.
CSE 1001 Curriculum Committee – work on curriculum, lesson plans, hire 34 instructors and 34 TAs as well as assist with CSE 1002, international freshman seminars and CSE 1012, Experiential Learning course for first year CSE students
Diversity and Inclusion efforts in programming, supporting student groups, and liaison with the Louis Stokes NorthStar STEM Alliance within the Office of Equity and Diversity as well as the [email protected] (Black Engineers at Medtronic) mentorship program, [email protected] (Multicultural Engineering and Science at Medtronic) and the CSE D & I Alliance & Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) programming and continue to build partnerships with Medtronic through a mentorship program for women in CSE and other companies
Chair of large scale planning committees on various collegiate events: Sneak Preview, Welcome Week College Day, CSE Light Show, Dean’s Showcase, SWEekend, SWE Outreach events, Commencement planning
Work closely with the Communications Team on all printed, on-line presence as well as social media, and the weekly newsletter sent out to all CSE UGs weekly
Work closely with the Development Team with alumni, donors and corporate relations team to support fundraising for undergraduate student initiatives and scholarships
ABET Accreditation Review (last site visit November 2019) for the 12 engineering programs within CSE
Financial Administration (10%)
Administration of finance and budget allocations and reconciliation of 240 accounts, oversee salary proposals annually, approve all purchases within CSE Student Services, attend monthly budget meetings and approve all pcards, reconcile all EFS accounts, etc.
Be attentive to the Donor Management System funds and STARS, scholarship accounts and organize with the Scholarship Coordinator financial planning for annual spending plans for each scholarship in CSE Student Service
Student Organization Support (20%)
For Student Organizations in CSE (80+ groups), support and approve grant applications each semester supporting leadership development, research opportunities, attending regional and national conferences
Mentorship programs support within the LLC’s, WISE, SESB, SWE, NSBE, SHPE, CSE Ambassadors, etc.
Student Engagement and student leadership development opportunities
K-12 Outreach efforts including summer camps, sponsorship and events throughout the year to inspire the next generation of STEM students
Other Commitments (7%)
OED Certificate highly recommended to complete once hired
Participate actively with the D & I Alliance in CSE
Present at national and international conferences on STEM programs
Coordinate and attend site visits of partner institutions both nationally and internationally
Co-lead, with CSE faculty, Global Seminars and potential WISE Immersion in Ireland program
Assist with summer orientations and co-present at the Student Engagement and Parent Sessions
Work closely with Prof. Lorraine Francis, 3M Chair, on CSE 1012 annually on hiring faculty, TA’s, assist with course materials needed, etc.
Support undergraduate research opportunities
Support all 5 CSE Living and Learning communities and meet with community advisors as needed
Serve as mentor and advisor to WISE, SWE, SESB
Approve all PeopleSoft student system access requests college wide
University: Learning Abroad Council Advisory Board, Directors of Student Services, Emergency Funds and CARES act Committee, Collegiate Admissions Committee, Council of Undergraduate Education, various Search committees as called upon
Master’s degree plus 8 years of experience in higher education
Excellent communication skills

Management and supervisory experience
Ph.D or other terminal degree in the field
