Hazard Community and Technical College is seeking applications for the position of Instructor in Machine Tool and Die & Tool and Die Apprentice. HCTC will begin offering certificates in Machine Tool and Tool and Die Apprentice at the Technical Campus. Remodeled facilities and new equipment have been secured. These certificates will provide students hands on experiences to prepare to work at a variety of machine shops or start their own business.
NOTE: This position is grant funded.
Teach courses in the Machine Tool/Tool &Die Apprenticeship certificate program - CMM 110 Fundamentals of Machine Tools A, CMM 112 Fundamentals of Machine Tools B, CMM 130 Manual Programming, CMM 134 CAD/CAM/CNC, BRX 112 Blueprint Reading for Machinist, CMM 150 Shop Theory, CMM 118 Metrology/Control Charts, CMM 152 Jigs, Fixtures and Gaging, CMM 120 Applied Machining I, CMM 153 Mold Theory, CMM 154 Die Theory
Serve as advisor to students
Develop curriculum and assessment
Participate in professional development and growth opportunities
Bachelor and/or master's degree preferred with a minimum two years work experience in the field (machinist, tool & die, CNC machinist). Alternatively to a bachelor's and master's degree, faculty could have a minimum of two years work experience in the field with appropriate current credential or certification OR faculty could have an associate degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline OR faculty could have a credential from a vocational/technical school and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline OR faculty could have a secondary occupational certificate in the field OR faculty could have documented work experience OR experience equivalents may be evaluated by peers in the profession to ensure competencies of the faculty members.
