Part-time Academic/Career Advisors needed to work in the Chester and Midlothian Advising Centers up to and no more than 29 hours per week depending on student need. Hours will vary throughout the year with the heaviest need during the summer months and during portions of November, December and January. Duties will include advising new and returning students in-person, by phone, e-mail and/or on-line using technology. Positions require detailed and accurate advising of students, a thorough knowledge of JTCC programs, policies and procedures, use of PeopleSoft, appropriate documentation of advising sessions, use of technology to provide on-line advising, clear understanding of the collegeâs goals and the various roles of college offices in order to refer students as needed for college services. Must attend monthly mandatory trainings and staff meetings in order to remain current on Advising at JTCC.
