Advertised Job Summary:
The Academic Advisor will serve as an academic advisor to a pool of approximately 1600 undergraduate students and provides appropriate and necessary student services for the College of Information and Communications Office of Student Services. The Academic Advisor will counsel and advise undergraduate students pertaining to academic planning and progression, study abroad, engagement on campus, leadership opportunities and career pathways.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Must be detail orientated, self-motivated, and able to work independently and carefully manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with short deadlines in a high-volume environment. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must have an ability to work with changing priorities and multiple projects in a high-volume environment. Knowledge of student information systems required. Knowledge and experience in academic advising. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required. Effective written and oral communication skills required. Must be able to work with a diverse student body, faculty and administrators. Ability and willingness to work evenings and some weekends is expected.
