Reporting to the Director of Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and in collaboration with departments within the University, the EOP Lead Academic Advisor is responsible for providing guidance and professional development support for the EOP academic advising team as well as other EOP staff. The Lead Advisor also provides coordination of the support services for EOP students including but not limited to academic advising, student retention and persistence, student success, assessment, transition from high school and/or community college, career exploration, and academic probation. The incumbent will collect, analyze, and assess data and report to the EOP Director. The incumbent will serve on university wide committees and working groups to help develop and maintain best academic advising practices for the EOP student population. The incumbent promotes and represents EOP within the SJSU community by advocating for first generation, low-income, historically disadvantaged students.
