Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Medical Education, the Assistant Dean for Medical Education will support the design, development, implementation and assessment of the medical education program for undergraduate medical students in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. This position involves working as part of a team of staff, faculty and administrators in developing and leading the medical education program at the OUWB School of Medicine.
Ph.D. in educational psychology, instructional design, adult learning, medical science or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years work experience in an education organization as an evaluator, instructional designer, faculty member, and/or equivalent.
Demonstrated knowledge of program and course evaluation and student assessment methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
Strong technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
Must be able to simultaneously handle multiple assignments.
The successful applicant should possess a broad knowledge of best practices in medical education and the training of professional students.
Experience with teaching healthcare education and strong supervisory skills are desired.
