The Business Development Manager will have a proven track record developing and selling proprietary & value-added products. Will be responsible for leading CARBO Ag product solutions in North America including but not limited to client development, market segmentation, identifying customer needs and developing value-added products and services
Duties & Responsibilities
Establish sustainable key relationships with retailers, distribution, growers/end-users, and industry experts to promote and coordinate the profitable sale of crop nutrients, seed, crop protection, precision Ag, and services as well as other products offered to satisfy customer needs.
Initiate strategic recommendations to influence business decisions on specific product development and crop focus.
Supervise field operations, formulate application plans and prepare individual grower improvement plans and annual performance goals.
Collaborate with public research institutions, private companies and government agricultural programs to leverage regional agriculture expertise.
Must be a leader in promoting research, evaluation and new product development pipeline to develop new technologies and influence grower use.
Lead the research, evaluation, and growth of new environmentally sustainable technologies that drive breakthrough results necessary to increase yield and decrease cost.
Attend relevant industry meetings to maintain and expand current knowledge base on focus crops in North America.
Develop and implement marketing leadership and support implementation of key marketing initiatives.
Supports internal database development through CRM (Contact Relationship Management) software.
Performs other related duties and/or special projects as required.
Qualifications The successful candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year University in Agronomy or Agriculture preferred with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the agronomic industry in seed, crop protection/nutrients, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Provide established sales connections and relationships.
Has consistently developed and executed plans to maximize sales potential.
Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations; knowledge of field equipment; training skills; priority management and ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions.
Willingness to work in a variety of conditions (field, plant, warehouse - hot, cold, dust, etc.); ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Possessing Certified Crop Advisor certificate, or ability to obtain within 1 year is a plus
