Carleton College is seeking an Administrative Assistant in Biology & Assistant to the Pre-Health Advisor. The Administrative Assistant manages the office and performs administrative functions in order to enhance faculty teaching and research, and assists the chair and pre-health advisor with diverse administrative duties. The employee facilitates the internal and external communications of these departments. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Biology and Pre-Health Advisor.
The Administrative Assistant in Biology & Assistant to the Pre-Health Advisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the offices including calendar of events; activities; meetings of the chair, pre-health advisor and faculty; opening, distributing and prioritizing mail; screening and directing calls and inquiries. This position meets regularly with the chair and pre-health advisor to discuss current department business; attend department meetings, draft agendas, take and distribute minutes, track items and deadlines.
This is a regular part-time, 35 hours per week during the school year and 16 hours per week during the summer (0.77 FTE) benefit eligible position.
