The ELC Scholars Program Director will provide academic and administrative leadership in support of freshman male student success. This individual will mentor male freshmen, monitor their adjustment to college, oversee supplemental tutoring, create and oversee college and career skills programming, oversee emergency assistance fund allocations and serve as liaison to companies supporting freshman male student success.
The Director reports to the Assistant Dean for Student Success in the Deese College of Business and Economics and works closely with the college's academic advisor,faculty and administrators. The Program Director may also be required to teach freshman orientation classes.

The Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University has proudly maintained accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) since 1979. The Accounting accreditation has been in place since 1986. The most recent reaffirmation of accreditation occurred in 2016.
The leadership team for the Deese College includes the Dean, Associate Dean, five academic Chairpersons, the Assistant Dean of Student Success, the Assistant Dean/MBA Director, the Director of the Transportation Institute, about 14 administrative services staff and 2 technical services staff. A faculty of over 75 (70 tenured and tenure-track) teach in the Departments of Accounting and Finance, Business Information Systems and Analytics, Economics, Management, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management. Faculties are tasked with providing quality teaching and learning supported by relevant research and service. The student body consists of approximately 1,700 undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate degrees are awarded in Accounting, Business Information Technology, Economics, Finance, Management Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain Management. The graduate degrees offered are the MBA and Master of Accountancy degrees.

The program director must have a master's degree in an area related to student personnel, education or college administration or bachelor's degree with at least two years of higher education experience including experience in the area of student success, advising and/or retention.
Preferred Qualifications: - Evidenced commitment to male student success - Demonstrated success at relationship building and collaborating with different constituencies to accomplish strategic goals - Excellent interpersonal/communication skills - Ph.D. in area related to student personnel, education or college administration or at least four years of higher education experience
