Learning Skills Specialist Brody School of Medicine Academic Affairs

Job Duties: The Learning Skills Specialist will join an academic support team that includes a Learning Skills Specialist, Academic Support Specialist, Basic Science Liaison, Exam Performance and Medical Technology Advisor, and Administrative Support Associate to promote the academic success, professional/personal development, and wellness of learners enrolled in the M.D. program through a full range of services. Reporting to the Interim Assistant Dean of Student Development and Academic Counseling, this position will work collaboratively with offices across the Academic Affairs units to: develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based strategies to enhance the learning and performance of Brody medical students. In addition to submitting a candidate profile online, please submit online the required applicant documents: Curriculum Vitae Minimum Education/Experience: Master's Degree in Adult Education, Educational Psychology, Learning Disabilities/Special Education, Student Affairs/Higher Education, or related field with knowledge of learning assessments. Two years of experience working in a post-secondary education setting. Experience in an academic setting providing academic support interventions to diverse adult learners. Experience in conducting educational workshops, seminars, and/or small group sessions. Experience in organizing or managing tutoring and/or peer assisted learning programs. Understanding of cognitive development and emotional intelligence. Exceptional interpersonal skills that can build working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and leadership across the curriculum of undergraduate medical education. Exceptional computer, organizational, data entry and project management skills. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, REDCap, Qualtrics, and Canvas.
