The Office of Admission is seeking an Admissions Program Manager I (Associate Director for Multicultural Recruitment). This position shares responsibility with an additional associate director to develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment and yield plan for multicultural students, focusing on students historically underrepresented in the college process. This position is needed to perform the following responsibilities:
Develop recruitment and communication strategies for multicultural and underrepresented students that integrate with the overall recruitment and communication plan
Engage with internal and external diversity-related organizations that support the University's strategy
Serve as liaison to internal multicultural support and alumni organizations
Identify and coordinate Undergraduate Admission relationships with national database of community-based organizations, leading territory managers to facilitate relationships in their respective assigned territories
Identify appropriate outreach activities for engagement to meet University mission and strategic plan
Coordinate and lead programs within Undergraduate Admission recruitment and yield efforts for enrolling students of color
Lead training that contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills and strategies to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds
Provide mentorship, leadership, and guidance for entry-level professionals in areas pertaining to multicultural recruitment
Research and guide implementation of appropriate best practices for multicultural student recruitment within Undergraduate Admission
Provide timely and relevant reports regarding measurable outcomes and goals
Strong outreach, recruitment, presentation and motivational skills
Manage a recruitment territory which includes spending 3-5 weeks visiting high schools, building and maintaining relationships with high school and college counselors, evaluating all applications from territory, and making connections with prospective students and parents in order to provide top-notch customer service during the recruitment, application, and spring conversion process.
In addition, the associate director is a member of the undergraduate admission management team and may be required to supervise professional staff. We seek an individual with significant admission experience to join our admission team and provide leadership in the areas indicated above.
