We are seeking a Counselor / Coordinator who will primarily be responsible for providing academic guidance and support to students and parents participating in the College and Gear Up Programs.
This is a full-time, grant-funded, administrative position.
Examples of Duties
Assist in the planning, development and coordination of scheduled activities for student participants and their parents
Coordinate, plan and implement workshops that foster student growth and development
Provide large and small group counseling sessions for designated students
Illicit parental support through general and/or specific informative correspondence
Establish and maintain relationship(s) with public school personnel; i.e. school counselors
Ability to work evenings and weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays)
Assist in the recruitment of prospective students
Assist in the preparations and coordination of promotional materials
Collect and prepare all data requested by funding agent/Director of Urban Consortium
Assist in the preparation of reports as requested by the Director of Urban Consortium
Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Urban Consortium
A Bachelor's degree is required
Work experience with urban youth preferred
