Reporting to the Director of the Rutgers-Camden Learning Center, the Learning Specialist is responsible for the delivery of learning assistance to students through personalized programs of academic self-improvement and group workshops. Maintains accurate records on individual and group clients. Oversees day-to-day tutoring scheduling processes and facilitates the College Reading and Learning Association program via workshops and trainings. Interacts with academic departments, advisors, and student service programs; conducts outreach presentations on learning center services, learning strategies, and other areas of student academic support. Refers students with disabilities to appropriate campus or university offices and provides learning support for those students as identified.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Successful candidates must have a bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, education, humanities, or a related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires at least two years experience providing academic learning support for undergraduate students at a university setting, and/or two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding in collegiate learning strategies and methodologies for individuals and groups, and/or experience managing the operations of a collegiate learning center. Requires excellent computer skills; excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; abilty to multi-task under busy office conditions; ability to deal with a variety of situations with discretion and confidentiality. Must be available to work occasional evening and weekend hours in addition to the standard workweek.

MS Office, internet, tutoring software databases, student information systems, and other computer-based platforms including EAB and Qualtrics. Incumbent may use social media tools to communicate with students and tutors.
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
