The Office of the Dean, in the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, is seeking applications for an Academic Advisor. An Academic Advisor provides individual advising to assigned undergraduate students (first-year students, transfer students, continuing caseload of students or a combination) to assist in transitioning to college, academic planning and progression, and engagement on campus. Academic Advisors possess a working knowledge of college program curricula, university policy, and campus resources.
Academic Advisors communicate and meet regularly with students, their assigned Department, College, and the central Academic Advising area. Advising and other related duties for this position will include:
managing the online degree completion programs,
recruiting for the online degree completion programs,
assisting with major and pre-program advising in other areas of the College as needed,
participating in on-going training and certification,
hosting various outreach events,
intervening with students, and
using available technologies to ensure accurate and effective advising.
The Fair Labor Standards Act status of exempt or non-exempt will depend on the incumbent's entry salary for this position. This position is contingent upon sufficient funding.
