Manages the physical and communications traffic into the building and check-in for advising with the University Advising Center and University Studies. Manage physical and communication traffic for an estimated 4000 – 4500 students seeking advising, which includes all incoming freshmen advised by the University Advising Center, other students advised by University Studies, as well as directing all university students seeking other academic support services offered within University College. Manage heavy front desk check-in student traffic to the University Advising Center and University College for walk-ins and appointments. Make appointments for students wishing to see one of the 17 advisors in these 2 departments. Help students using the registration computers. Oversee student study lounges. Direct walk-in student traffic to appropriate departments outside University College. Handle confidential student information. Provide administrative support for the Executive Director of University College. This includes reporting maintenance issues for the building and facilitating with programs and events managed by University College. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma. Three (3) years of secretarial experience, experience working at a front desk reception area or the equivalent experience. Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
Associate’s degree. One to two years of experience working at a front desk reception area at a higher education institution.
