Advertised Job Summary:
Reporting to the Dean of the University of South Carolina's School of Law, the Assistant Dean for Advancement is responsible for leading the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of the Law School's Communications, Development, Alumni Relations, and Events programs and initiatives. The Assistant Dean leads and manages a complex set of strategies and constituencies designed to optimize the implementation of key portions of the Law School's strategic plan and must therefore develop strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders. The Assistant Dean is charged with providing leadership in shaping and integrating the School's resource development, communications, and marketing functions into a cohesive strategy that aligns with the School's strategic vision and advances its overall mission. The School of Law is comprised of an accomplished community of faculty and student scholars, and the Assistant Dean for Advancement is charged with developing a communications strategy which publicizes these achievements across broad and deep sectors to maximize the reputation of the School. The Assistant Dean will be responsible for overall marketing of the School and specifically the School's non-JD programs.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a related area with at least ten years of successful experience relating to the duties described required; advanced degree preferred. Successful resource development experience and a proven record of accomplishment in building relationships with foundations, corporations, community and business leaders, and donors, among others.
