Dept Marketing Statement The Educational Partnership Center (EPC) coordinates new and longstanding student academic preparation efforts of the University of California, Santa Cruz with the goal of increasing access and opportunity to postsecondary education for underserved students across the Monterey Bay and Silicon Valley/San Jose regions. We provide an array of direct services, supporting students on the college-going pathway through tutoring, mentoring, academic planning and counseling, leadership training, test preparation, college awareness and enrichment, and teacher professional development. Programs in the EPC include: - California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) - California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) - California Reading and Literature Project (CRLP) - Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) - Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) - Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) For more information, visit: https://epc.ucsc.edu/ Position Summary Involves planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs, activities, counseling, tutoring and advising focused on students' successful graduation from high school and college, and career readiness. Works with students, program alumni, teachers, counselors, school districts, community stakeholders and parents. Under direction of higher-level K-14 Academic Preparation Specialist, works with assigned institutions and organizations to implement academic preparation programming of moderate scope. Maintains program visibility among program participants and families, in schools and community. Maintains collaborative relationships with K-14 institutions and / or community entities. Maintains relationships with higher education institutions. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary Information: $20.00/hourly. No. of Positions: 1 Benefits Level Eligibility: Mid-Level Schedule Information: Full-time 100% weekly 40 hours weekly Mon-Fri Day Shift with regular evening hours and occasional Saturdays Employee Classification: Contract Appointment Job End Date: 6/30/2021 Work Location: UC Santa Cruz Main Campus Union Representation: None Job Duties 20% - Under direction of higher-level professional: develops and manages virtual information and communication about higher education and financial aid. 15% - Maintains program visibility in schools and community. 10% - Delivers college-going workshops to parents and families at community and school sponsored events. 10% - Maintains relationships with higher education institutions and community entities. 10% - Maintains collaborative relationships with other college-going programs and high school personnel. 5% - Assists with development and implementation of college-going services and activities. 5% - Support recruitment of K-14 students and families for program participation and services. 5% - Serves as advocate for students and parents in the college-going process. 5% - Develops and maintains relationships with parents / families to support student academic success and access to higher education. 5% - Participates in meetings with school site personnel and / or service providers. 5% - Collects and documents student enrollment / service data, participant contacts, and progress. Contributes to program reports. 5% - Participates in recruitment and program alumni events. Required Qualifications
