Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Social Work or Psychology or a related field or Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Experience working with patients and their families.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Clinical experience with diagnostic assessment and interviewing patients. Experience as a research support specialist working in behavioral health. Bilingual in Spanish/English. At least one (1) year of full-time experience working in a research lab or a clinical setting.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Stony Brook University is number two in the entire university in annual research expenditures. There are multiple groups who perform research studies aimed at understanding the nature of mental illnesses, developing novel therapeutics, and predicting risk and response. Research programs are ongoing in schizophrenia, depression, substance use disorders, and dementia. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, individual who will help us identify research participants for enrollment in these ongoing studies in the department. Much of the work will be by phone screening, in person interviews, collaborating with clinics inside and out of Stony Brook. Success will simply and easily be measured by ability to recruit participants. Must be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team. Clinical Research Associate will have the ability to effectively communicate with members of a multidisciplinary team.
Work with the call center in the outpatient clinic to identify and recruit participants.
Identify and meet other sources of research participants in Stony Brook clinics and beyond.
Other duties as assigned.
