A unique opportunity to participate in the support of Life and General Insurance. Provide legal support and assist in management of legal risks of Prudential Hong Kong in a practical, solution-driven, proactive and collaborative manner.
1. Provide legal support to the Prudential business including:
Provide legal support on BAU matters e.g. drafting / reviewing / negotiating documents and contracts.
Advise on insurance policy provisions including the drafting and reviewing of all associated documentation.
Assist all business units in the design of products and sales journeys.
Oversee and manage litigation including reporting and strategizing tactics.
Advise on insurance regulatory matters such as data privacy, competition law and general guidance to insurance-related laws and guidelines.
Provide legal support on ad hoc projects such as on-going development of the Pulse App.
Advise on investigations of agents and potential impact on Prudential.
Advise on the legal aspects of customers' complaints and insurance claims.
Act as the Legal representative in various internal Committees.
Manage both internal stakeholders and external parties, e.g. regulators, legal advisors, law enforcement agencies.
2. Monitor legal and regulatory developments in insurance law primarily and all other relevant regulatory development; Analyze associated legal implications.
3. Provide updates / training on legal developments to staff.
4. Provide legal input on relevant consultation papers and draft codes / guidelines / regulations.
5. Develop and implement legal policies / procedures for mitigating legal risks and improving overall efficiency.
LL.B degree holder and qualified Hong Kong solicitor, with at least 8 years' relevant experience from reputable financial institutions / law firms, including some in-house experience
Good working knowledge of HK insurance regulations
Good communication and writing skills in both English and Chinese. Besides proficiency in Cantonese, needs at least basic proficiency in Mandarin. Proficiency in WP software. Ability to type Chinese
