Job Duties: The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion is responsible for overseeing and administering all diversity and inclusion initiatives and programming for the Brody School of Medicine. Specifically, the Associate Dean will: This appointment will have 80% effort dedicated to the role of Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion. The remaining 20% effort will be allocated to faculty duties in the department of the candidate's specialty. Must be eligible for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level; tenure potential dependent on candidate’s interest and background. The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion/Chief Diversity Officer must have experience in developing, implementing, and/or administering diversity and inclusion programs, to include at least five years establishing a track record of leadership in building and evaluating diversity and inclusion programs for faculty and learners within an integrated, complex, and matrix academic medical center. Must have demonstrated experience in the aspects of diversity to include: recruitment and retention issues, faculty diversity, learner diversity, diversity in healthcare, access and equity, culture of inclusion and identity development. Experience collaborating with senior administration on strategic initiatives and programs that impact diversity. Demonstrated management and project planning experience. Must possess experience regarding the culture of healthcare. Must demonstrate written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy. The Office of Diversity Affairs of the Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) fosters support of faculty, administrators, learners and staff in promoting a diverse and inclusive learning environment for growth and achievement. It envisions the school of medicine as a global leader in diversity research, data driven outcomes, education and programming, to serve and inspire positive change in academic medicine and beyond. Reporting to the Dean of the Brody School of Medicine, the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion will play a central role in promoting, expanding and enhancing diversity and inclusion initiatives at the BSOM.
