Non-benefited, grant-funded MCCC unit position
Responsible for Blended Learning Level 3 HiSET instruction in Math, Science, Social Studies and English Language Arts (Grade Level Equivalent 9 - 12); submission of weekly lesson plans on DESE-approved template; participation in weekly staff meetings; collaboration with colleagues on development of new remote Social Studies and Science curricula; creation of differentiated instruction and ongoing formative assessments to meet individual student learning needs; conduct student follow up as needed for absences or other issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide remote and/or face to face instruction 3 days per week for Level 3 students for 12 hours per week with documented, written lesson plans that incorporate the College & Career Readiness Standards for adult learners as directed by DESE
Commit to continuous improvement with ongoing professional development, consistent review of student assessment data, and responsiveness to classroom observation feedback by ALC Coordinator
Provide ongoing differentiated academic support to Level 3 students in adherence with the ALC Scope & Sequence for Level 3 in Math and ELA
Conduct a minimum of weekly formative assessments to continuously gather "real-time" data about student progress
Integrate student goal planning into classroom instruction in collaboration with ALC Advisors
Participate in new student orientation and monthly ALC career development workshops
Participate in pre and post planning sessions with the ALC staff team, as well as weekly staff meetings to enhance collaboration and student success
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Coordinator of the Adult Learning Center
SALARY: $30.03 per hour. Non-benefited, grant-funded MCCC unit position.
STARTING DATE: Position begins ASAP for 34 weeks

A Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required
A minimum of two years of teaching experience with adult learners
A commitment to mutuality in the classroom and beyond
Knowledge of remote learning platforms, such as Zoom or Google Classroom
Previous HiSET or GED instruction preferred
Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.
