About the Role
The Accounting Operations Analyst role will be part of a team that executes on the retail brokerage accounting and operations for Wells Fargo including Wells Fargo Clearing Services (WFCS, commonly known as Wells Fargo Advisors, or WFA) and Wells Fargo Financial Network (FiNet). This role will be within the Broker Dealer and Traded Products Group Controller team and will perform moderate to complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts.
Primary duties may include preparing and/or reviewing bank and/or general ledger reconciliations. Preparing aging information, daily matching of bank transactions and ensuring the accuracy of check payments in Company systems.
There may also be involved with ad hoc requests to support the onshore team, including reconciliation managers, or performing a variety of analyses or projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems.
Role will provide functional advice or training to lower level accounting positions.
The successful candidate should possess superior accounting policy and US GAAP reporting skills along with knowledge of financial services and/or retail brokerage.
Qualified CA/CFA/ICWA/MBA-Finance with 7-9 years of experience in Finance & Accounting Significant experience in preparing end to end reconciliations/financial reporting
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
General ledger experience
Knowledge and understanding of retail brokerage accounting, financial reporting, and/or operations
Knowledge and understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles
FINRA registration including Series 7 and/or 99 License
Public accounting experience
Ability to trace and investigate transactions to resolve questionable data and apply corrective actions when necessary
Experience with effective written and verbal communications with an onshore team
Ability to prioritize and think critically to raise and provide input to resolve operational accounting issues for tactical efficiency
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
Ability to track deadlines and submissions on time
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Experience with Oracle will be an added advantage
