The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science will commence its first year with over 80 primary salaried faculty, 25 secondary faculty, and 200+ personnel. The School will include activities from 5 - 6 divisions and 5 research centers of excellence moving from the SOM Department of FMPH. The School will house five recharge cores providing services to UCSD and external customers. Research in the School will include ~$125M total awarded grants and contracts.
The School has and administers two PhD programs (Public Health and Biostatistics), a Master of Public Health professional degree program, an MS in Biostatistics, the only Health Sciences undergraduate program (BSPH), and an MAS in Leadership of Healthcare Organizations run in conjunction with Extension.
Uses professional research concepts. Applies organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complex issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Bachelor's Degree in public health, sociology, anthropology or related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Two (2) years of related experience in community health education, public health research, K-12 education, cross-cultural public health and/or K-12 settings, or similar.
Thorough working knowledge and experience with data collection activities.
Working knowledge of the design and implementation of data collection procedures and protocols.
Strong analytical skills required at this level.
Working knowledge and skills associated with report preparation.
Bilingual preferred (fluent or conversational Spanish, Arabic, or Farsi).
