About the Opportunity: Northeastern University seeks an Associate Director for Experiential Integration for the Self-Authored Integrated Learning (SAIL) Initiative to contribute to its integrative vision for learning, throughout and beyond the University. This position is embedded in the Division of Educational Innovation and works closely with the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research (CATLR). The colleague in this role will be part of a core team of Learning Scientists, Designers, Communications experts and Product Strategists who work together to integrate and evolve SAIL into the learning fabric of Northeastern in alignment with the University's Academic Plan. Northeastern University is a national leader in experiential education with over 100 years of leadership in Co-operative education. The university is continually evolving the ways in which learners can learn and grow through the myriad experiences that are available to them while at Northeastern. The SAIL initiative is Northeastern's next step in preparing students to be adaptable and flexible for lifelong learning wherever their paths might take them. This model is anchored in helping learners to see the connections between their experiences and, in doing, so strengthens their capacity to integrate and effectively communicate what they know and how they know it. To achieve this, the University has created its own holistic development framework and accompanying tools, which together, are allowing for the evolution of its culture of experiential learning. The initiative unites educators who engage with learners in all different venues of the student experience, ranging from the classroom to co-curricular activities, research, service, global experiences, student employment, athletics, student organizations and co-operative education to name a few. By integrating a common framework and language into the work that they do with learners (and with one another), these educators are able to support learners as they integrate their learning across all experiences, and help them to articulate the skills and proficiencies that they are developing across these varied experiences. Responsibilities: The Associate Director for Experiential Integration will have the unique opportunity in this initiative to support the development of programs that will help educators and learners alike seek and identify the points of integration with the platform across the different experiences. This includes but is not limited to: Together with the core team, the Associate Director will: Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Associate Director should have the ability to understand the big picture and overall vision, while managing the day-to-day implementation of the established strategies.
