Under the direction of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA), the Administrative Assistant will perform responsible and complex administrative and secretarial work; exercise discretion and independent judgment particularly with senior administrative staff, senior volunteer leadership (trustees, counselors, etc.), prospective donors and donors; and evaluate and determine the most appropriate steps to assure the proper functioning and information flow of the Advancement office.
Successful completion of a substantially full-time equivalent clerical, stenographic or secretarial curriculum leading to a degree or diploma at an accredited community college, business or technical school which included courses in business English, Mathematics, office clerical procedures and office machines.
Any combination equivalent to: associate's degree including courses in secretarial science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible secretarial experience, including two years as an administrative or executive secretary.
Additional education at an accredited university or college, with two or more course, such as human relations in business, business correspondence or communications, principles of management, personnel management relations, office management, business administration.
