IU Health is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to establish/execute the strategic financial plan for the organizations two largest hospitals, Methodist and University, known as the Adult Academic Health Center (AAHC). This individual will partner with key members of the executive leadership team both at the system and regional level as well as engage and influence their peer group within the system. Areas of oversight will include budget, financial analysis and planning, business intelligence, capital management and physician contracting for the AAHC. This leader will collaborate with individuals across all levels in the organization as well as inform the financial strategy for the AAHC.
This leader will play an integral role in the development of the expanded downtown medical campus consolidating both Methodist and University Hospitals. This 1.6 billion dollar project will span over 44 acres and is the single largest capital project in Indiana. This position will serve as an advisor and change agent in the development of the new Adult Academic Health Center of the future ensuring alignment financially while leading through the organization’s mission, vision and values. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of our Adult Academic Health Center (AAHC) to include Methodist (MH) and University (UH) Hospitals is responsible for establishing the strategic financial plan to ensure direct alignment with the business strategy. This individual will possess strong analytical and relationship building skills to build an agenda for innovative organizational improvement and financial performance. This leader will interface frequently with senior leadership, physicians, clinical staff, patients and front line team members through MH and UH. This role will work collaboratively with the system financial leadership team as well as the system decision support and business intelligence team. Execution of organizational development strategy and motivating change initiatives in order to achieve strategic business and operations objectives will be key. The CFO of the AAHC will provide counsel on all fiscal activities such as accounting, budgets, audits, taxes and the preparation of regulatory and governmental agency reports as well as be accountable for developing an annual plan, inclusive of objectives and resource allocations, completed in accordance with the organization’s planning cycles. This individual will be responsible for the development and administration of an annual fiscal plan ensuring that adequate controls are established to prevent lost revenue and control operation expenses.
This leader will report directly to the System SVP & CFO and have a matrixed relationship with the President of the AAHC.

Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration; Business Administration or related field
Master’s Degree or CPA preferred
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in finance, operations management, strategic planning and community relations
Experience working in a managerial position in finance or related area in a comparable size and sophistication
Strong demonstrated transformational and complex, matrixed leadership skills to champion leading to preeminence and transitioning to an accountable care organization
Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization
Knowledge of industry issues, demonstrated experience and results such as Curve 2 (transition from volume based to value based economics), accountable care and insurance/population risk models
