The Research Billing Application Analyst provides oversight on a wide variety of duties related to Information Technology applications, specifically with Epic Revenue Cycle Systems. Responsibilities include serving as technical resource on the Revenue Cycle Information Services team; design, build, testing, training and implementation of the new Epic Research Module and workflow integration with other Epic application teams and third party systems to support the clinical research billing department. This position will also be responsible for ongoing maintenance and enhancements to ensure optimal system functionality and stability.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in healthcare information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
Must have at least one of the following Epic Certifications: Clinical Research and/or Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing or Ambulatory.
Must obtain certification in primary EMR module(s) within four (4) months of initial hire.
Must maintain current certification for primary EMR module(s) as a condition of employment.
A minimum of three or more years of relevant experience in Epic (with at least one (1) year of Epic build and Clinical Research experience).
Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Demonstrated ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, quantitative methods, planning and gap analysis.
Proven ability to provide expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes. Ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet functionality needs of users.
Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects; in-depth knowledge of organizational and project planning processes and ability to produce and maintain high quality planning documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Epic Resolute Hospital Billing or Epic Resolute Professional Billing.
Epic Certification in Research Clinical or Research Billing.
Experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation.
