Support essential donor relation functions, including major gifts, in the Membership & Philanthropy (MAP) Department. Manage fundraising goals for two annual events. Act as committee liaison for Garden Board’s Donor Recognition Committee and staff lead for the Garden’s tribute program; prepare gifts for processing and acknowledgements; manage prospect and donor research; plan and execute stewardship and cultivation activity for specific donor groups; coordinate fundraising events; and support the entire fundraising team with marketing messaging and donor events.
Manage the Garden’s tribute and memorial program. Develop relationships with tribute and memorial donors, respond to inquiries, develop new opportunities, and work with Garden vendors during fabrication and implementation process; develop and track tribute donor agreements
Serve as liaison to volunteer advisors who serve on Donor Recognition committee. Guide and motivate committee, establish annual donor recognition goals, and schedule meetings
Serve as project coordinator for select fundraising and donor events and special openings to celebrate major gifts. Manage RSVPs and collaborate with other staff partners to plan the program elements; segment invite lists; track and report budget revenue and expenses; and prepare and produce cultivation communications, save the date announcements, invitations, and post-event stewardship communications. Support entire fundraising team with fundraising and donor events as needed
Confirm and prepare for donor/prospect visits, prepare support materials, coordinate site visits, manage volunteer support for MAP mailings, and document call reports, media, and meeting notes in donor records
Prepare contribution record forms and acknowledgement letters for development operations.
Work with Marketing to create Annual Report content and design; serve as liaison for fundraising marketing messaging.
Organize and deliver prospect identification and donor qualification research to the MAP team, including preparation of prospect segmentations and donor profile
Capture and maintain relevant donor data and contact updates
Provide support and coordination for Board of Trustee Meetings as needed
Assist fundraising team with scheduling internal and external meetings as needed
Bachelor’s degree preferred and minimum of three years’ related work experience, or comparable combination of education and experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and editing and proofreading skills
Ability to successfully coordinate meetings and events
Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Ability to learn navigation and basic entry in Raisers Edge, the Garden’s donor database, wealth screening systems such as Donor Search, virtual meeting/event tools such as GoToMeeting and Zoom, marketing software like Constant Contact and Event Pro scheduling software.
