The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Deputy Commissioner position. The CAC is a proud NCAA Division III conference and consists of 11 member institutions in seven states. The position will serve in a part-time capacity for a nine-month period with no benefits. Compensation will be commensurate with the scope of the position and experience of the candidate.
The Deputy Commissioner of the CAC will be a senior administrator and member of the conference office staff. The Deputy Commissioner will serve as an advisor and consultant to the Commissioner, working to grow the membership, maintaining relations with the NCAA and other external organizations while performing other related duties as assigned by the Board of Directors, the Athletic Council and the Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner is a part-time position and will abide by the duties and responsibilities established by the Commissioner. Responsibilities are below:
a. Promote and uphold the mission of the conference, carry out the policies as set forth in the by-laws and other actions taken by the Board of Directors and Athletic Council.
b. Serve on the Athletic Council Executive Committee and serve in an advisory capacity to the group.
c. Assist the Commissioner on all CAC administrative and committee conference calls.
d. Serve as a conference administrator and representative at select conference championships.
e. Serve as an advisor and consultant to the Commissioner in identifying and recruiting new members for the Conference.
A minimum of five (5) years experience serving an institution or NCAA member institution in an executive role. Demonstrated experience successfully managing a diverse group of constituents. Exhibited experience interpreting and applying NCAA rules and regulations.
