The Senior Operations Officer leads the Operations Process team to ensure that the Bank has the proper operational controls and oversight, adequate procedures, and appropriate reporting tools in place to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in operations and risk management activities comply with regulations, and Bank policies. They will analyze current processes; evaluate efficiency, effectiveness, and risk; redesign and execute current processes; create and document procedures; and make recommendations for further utilization of tools and software. Major areas of focus are: branch operations, customer service, payment operations, electronic banking, item processing, and core processing.
Perform assigned duties in accordance with the Bank’s Mission, Vision and Core Values; and provide the Bank’s customers with timely, responsive and exceptional service in accordance with the Bank’s customer service standards
Provide leadership and collaboration to assist Deposit Administration teams in delivering satisfactory performance through development and maintenance of procedures, processes, and electronic tools utilization.
Directly supervise Operations Process team.
Identify, prioritize and execute on process re-engineering to ensure standardization and consistency as well as simplification and efficiency.
Actively work with vendors, make recommendations, and participate in product implementations, and enhancements, including the Bank’s core application provider while working closely with the other Division and senior Managers. Be an advisor from the operational perspective on any contracts into which the Bank may enter.
Oversee the development and implementation of Bank operations policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Bank, ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls to ensure safe and sound banking practices, a risk review process to systematically review for adequacy of operational risk management, regulatory compliance, conformance of policies to regulatory guidelines, prevention of operating losses, and the recovery of losses where possible.
Participate in the development of the annual Operations Division business and management strategic plan to help in meeting the Division’s goals and support the Bank’s overall strategic plan.
Assist in the maintenance of a Disaster Recovery planning for Deposit Operation that supports restoration of essential Deposit Operations processes.
Evaluate and advise on the introduction of new products/strategies, regulatory actions, and provide input and leadership on issues affecting the Bank; i.e., evaluation of potential products, and software systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or ten years equivalent experience
Minimum 8 years of banking experience.
Thorough knowledge of banking processes, regulations, policies and procedures
Experience leading operational teams in Wire, ACH, Core, Item Processing, and Electronic Banking.
Proficient computer skills with collaboration and productivity tools including Windows-based operating systems and office suites (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); spreadsheet applications to organize data used for advanced data analysis; internet; email; and bank software.
Proficient in procedure development, understanding in relevant regulatory matters, and risk management practices.
Proficient and knowledgeable in Treasury Management product and service delivery.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proven management and analytical skills
