Evaluates transcripts for transfer students applying for admission to Tarleton State University. Determines if students meet transfer requirements. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as teaching and work requirements indicate; may require evening and weekend hours as needed for recruiting events and/or conferences and during peak work times. Â
Responsibilities: 78% Evaluates transcripts for students transferring from other schools. Matches courses with equivalent course numbers at Tarleton. Inputs each course into articulation database by semester. Maintains articulation database system containing lists of course equivalents between Tarleton and other colleges/universities. Determines if students meet transfer requirements.
3% Evaluates transcripts from other schools for prospective students who want to know how their earned credit will be transferred: Assists students in person, by phone or written correspondence regarding coursework and provide documents when needed.
3% Evaluates transcript for faculty members as requested Assists advisors to ensure they are advising the student for the correct course based on prior courses completed. Researches previous courses taken by student to assist advisor which course the student needs for their degree plan.
3% Assists students or prospective students who are taking courses at other institutions in order to inform the student if the course is equivalent to a course at Tarleton required for their degree plan.
7% Works with other office personnel during times of peak activity.Â Suggests more efficient methods for completing position responsibilities.
3% Assists Coordinator of Transfer Services in maintaining articulation agreements. Assists when needed with updates of agreements as new catalogs are adopted. Performs other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Transfer Services.
3% Accepts other duties as assigned by the Department Head. Adheres to NCAA and Western Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelorâ™s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
