Holy Names University is seeking a part-time, experienced International Student Advisor to manage services in support of the continuing enrollment and success of international students.
The International Student Advisor is responsible for providing immigration advising services and ongoing student support to meet the needs of an international student population ranging from 35-50 students. The International Student Advisor works independently to problem solve a variety of complex issues requiring knowledge of immigration rules and regulations, while also serving as a member of a student success team working to integrate programs and services for international students with the work of other departments. The International Student Advisor also supports the Admissions department with the on-boarding of new international students.
This position reports to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
Essential Functions of Positions:
Administer SEVIS-related functions, serving as PDS.
Oversee international student regulations, including practical training.
Support HNU's international students individually as needed for their success.
Collaborate with other departments to create and sponsor international student events and community multi-cultural events
Train and support admissions administrators and staff as needed regarding international student policies and best practice.
Visa document production for nonimmigrant students and scholars.
Background in higher education, counseling, and/or international education, with 3-5 years of experience in direct support of international students at the college or university level.
Knowledge of F-1 regulations as well as relevant policies and processes.
Experience working with and supporting diverse communities.
