The Senior Accountant, Investment provides financial support to the accounting department within the Foundation. The person must be independent, self-motivated, and able to work independently. This position is responsible for various areas of the Foundation's financial activity including supervision or completion of various account reconciliations. This position tracks and reconciles all investment activity and works closely the external investment advisors. In addition, this position will support the external audit process.
Reconcile entire endowment and restricted/unrestricted investment portfolios on a monthly basis;
Review Trust tax returns from outside accounting group. Review all reporting information related to the Foundation's split-interest agreements;
Back-up and support cash function/process;
Enter and post area related journal entries. Assist Controller and Assistant Controller with filing departmental accounting records, journal entries, and other accounting correspondence as well as establishing and maintaining account set up (subject file and endowment) files;
Financial Audit Participation and Special Assignments as requested by the Controller and CFO
Bachelor's degree in a business field or an equivalent combination of college education and work experience;
Demonstrated general accounting experience;
Ability to utilize accounting databases and fundraising databases in completion of tasks;
Good decision making and excellent oral and written communications skills;
Must be organized and able to manage overlapping tasks
Knowledge of Abila MIP or Ellucian Advance is a plus;
Knowledge of financial reconciliations and familiarity with investment activity is beneficial.
