Pay Range: $51,802 per year or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary: The Director of Tutoring and College Success (TCS) reports directly to the Executive Director, Student Success Initiatives. This position is responsible for the overall leadership and oversight for the TCS program at the University of Idaho. TCS is an integral part of the Vandal Success Center and its retention efforts. The Director of TCS is responsible for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating professional staff; budget planning and management; annual report preparations; collaboration with other Academic Support Program (ASP) units and campus partners to provide excellent service to students; guiding the development and implementation of the University/unit vision and goals; and coordinating program assessment and evaluation. The Director of TCS is responsible for the successful coordination of Tutoring Services, SI-PASS (Supplemental Instruction)program, and Academic Coaching. The Director of TCS oversees the campus college success strategies courses and workshops throughout each semester and serves as an advisor and resource to faculty, staff, and students across campus. The incumbent serves on the ASP leadership team and several University retention committees.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in education, counseling, adult education, or other related field. Two years related professional experience. Experience supervising professional staff; including experience with hiring procedures. Experience with student services program development, implementation, and assessment.
Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of related experience. Experience managing tutoring services, Supplemental Instruction, academic coaching programs, or similar services in higher education. Familiarity with higher education retention initiatives. Experience working with students with learning disabilities and students from underrepresented and/or underserved communities (first generation, low income, students with disabilities, multicultural students , etc.). Experience teaching at the college level, preferably with students that present academic risk factors. Working knowledge of academic success strategies (study skills, time management, organization, test taking, note taking, etc.). Ability to design, develop, and deliver trainings that engage learners and achieves learning objectives. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team with a variety of people, including students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Experience with budget planning and management.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Availability to work select evenings and weekends as needed.
