The Virginia Community College system seeks a detail-oriented, proven collaborator to serve as the VCCS Online Virginia Network (OVN) Coordinator. The person hired for this position will facilitate initiatives and the development/expansion of online programming for VCCS's participation in Virginia's Online Virginia Network to help Virginians complete their degrees. As the primary point of contact for the VCCS-OVN partnership, the Coordinator supports staff located at the system office and at the five participating colleges (to ramp up to 23 colleges.). This position is responsible for day-to-day support of the OVN partnership for the community colleges. This OVN Coordinator is responsible for all of the administrative support for VCCSâ™ and collegesâ™ participation in OVN. The incumbent will convene and coordinate working groups within the VCCS as well as between VCCS, OVN participating universities, and other partners. The OVN coordinator will be responsible for the VCCS online presence within OVN. The OVN Coordinator will consult in the development of online course materials, coordinate with technical support, and help build the foundation for a successful program. The incumbent will also work to ensure that the VA passport courses and online degrees integrate into OVN. DUTIES INCLUDE: Coordinates participation of administrators, faculty, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists in the creation of fully online courses and associate degree programs. Areas of focus may include: online educational resources, cross-college course and program development, student recruitment and application process, budget monitoring and support, course and program assessment, best practice development and quality management. Uses data to facilitate consensus among stakeholders regarding procedures and project decisions. Organizes with the ITS staff and contract vendors to integrate dynamic content within the OVN website. Assists in the preparation of materials for online distribution, uploading and organization of course materials, and production of digital resources that will be easily accessible online. Facilitates partnerships across Virginia to further enhance college access and completion. Manages relationships with external vendors involved in the production and delivery of courses, website development and other services. Coordinates professional development for faculty and staff to ensure quality, consistent experiences for our students as well as professional development for instructional designers to create consistency among the look and feel of courses, templates, following best practices for design and educational methodologies. Establishes standards for online courses and reviews courses to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance. Helps to coordinate a robust student services platform and coordinates any online advisors and staff. Responsible for monitoring response rate of incoming requests for program information and general inquiries. Attends trainings and conferences to keep current on trends and issues in higher education. Advocates for the marketing needs of the participating community colleges with vendors and partners. Contributes to or lead committees and working groups. Presents to community, civic, or governmental entities about the Online Virginia Networkâ™s mission and goals Works a flexible schedule and meet overnight travel obligations. May perform other duties as assigned. Telecommuting may be required.
