The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Assessment Assistant to provide administrative support to the Office of Academic Affairs' staff with an emphasis on student admissions, assessment, externships and recruitment. The position will assist the Associate Dean, Counselor, Diversity and Recruitment Director, Psychometrician, and Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator to perform daily operations within the office.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Works closely with staff in the college's Office of Academic Affairs to collect, enter, and maintain electronic and paper data and information. Accurately compiles basic reports of data collected, such as scores, grades, percentages, and counts/frequencies. Provides logistical support such as making copies, mailing surveys and letters, and managing phone, written, and email correspondence. Performs administrative tasks related to student UTCVM externships, including data entry, externship tracking, facilitating site approvals, and sending evaluation forms. Corresponds with via email and phone to students and externship sites to follow-up on grade reports and site documents. Maintains up-to-date data sheets on all students, externship rotations, and dates of arrival/departure. Works with the Associate dean to answer student questions regarding externship process. Assists with logistics of student events, tours, event organization, exam proctor or other duties associated with the Office of Academic Affairs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed: Ability to seamlessly interact with multiple staff and students as well as contribute to a team. Must have the ability to be flexible and able to move rapidly between job responsibilities and focus areas. Strong office and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to learn quickly, ask for clarification, and adapt. Ability to make sound decisions. Ability to perform accurate, efficient, and confidential work.
