1. Provides information to undergraduates regarding degree requirements and advise appropriately with regard to academic progress or deficiencies. 2. Answers all prospective, current, and former student inquiries, and resolve problems related to curriculum, course descriptions, and other general academic policies. 3. Assist students and faculty advisors with multiple forms and various paperwork 4. Assist faculty advisors, athletic coaches, and/or other counseling personnel by providing records, evaluations, interpretations, and other requested data, recommendations, and conclusions. 5. Create and assist with 75-hour checklists and degree audits. 6. Confers with departmental and college advising staff, relative to academic records, credits, policy and program requirements. 7. Evaluates transcripts from other educational institutions to determine which courses meet requirements for transfer credit and applicability to program curricula. 8. Assists with enrollment management (creating DIS sections, granting overrides, updating class capacities, etc.). 9. Assists with departmental scholarship awards. 10. Assists with orientation, preregistration, and registration procedures. 11. Answers email or phone inquiries from prospective and new students. 12. Assist in recruiting events throughout the year. 13. Compiles statistical data for various reports as requested. 14. Assist with departmental academic scheduling, including conferring with faculty and the registrar's office. 15. Performs all job functions with judgment and discretion, operating with full knowledge of, and compliance with, federal privacy laws and university policy. 16. Performs other tasks and duties as required.
Bachelor's degree One year of experience in academic records or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Biologicals sciences or related area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with, and relate to, students and university personnel. 2. Proficiency with word processing and spread sheet programs. 3. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required. 4. Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, team environment
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Work in normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. 3. No or very limited physical effort required.
