THIS POSITION IS IN CHATTANOOGA, TN
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Knoxville, Department of Family Medicine is seeking a faculty member for a part-time non-tenured position. This position has opportunities in patient care, teaching, scholarly activities, and administration.
Salary and academic appointment is commensurate with training and experience.
Outpatient and inpatient clinical care of all ages supporting residency training to include call coverage. Obstetrics preferred but optional.
Academic duties include teaching residents, medical students and a limited role in training allied health students. Clinical teaching of residents, medical students, pharmacy students and rarely other allied health students as needed.
Additional academic work includes curricular development, college of medicine and hospital committees as necessary, scholarly activity pursuits as well as participation in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Scholarly Activity pursuits are expected (academic presentations, publications). The incumbent will be the Academic /Professional Advisor for 3 to 4 residents
Overseeing care provided by Physician Assistant in concert with all faculty members
MD or equivalent
Board Certified/Eligible Family Medicine
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics if practicing OB
Pediatric Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (optional)
MD or DO Licensure
Family Medicine specialty
Inpatient Care required
Academic experience appreciated
Obstetric preferred but optional
