The position provides assistance to veterinary professional students in curricular and student life matters. Primary responsibilities include scheduling courses and student activities within the professional curriculum, organizing and tracking the ABLES (Application Based Learning Exercise) and the Clinical Experience course in the first 5 semesters. Faculty support includes in organizing course syllabi, course schedule requirements, room reservation for the college, elective assignments, transition activities, graduation, and freshman and senior orientation, among others. The position provides organizational, administrative and clerical support to the Associate Dean and The Director of Diversity and Student Services, and coordinates duties with the Associate Dean's Administrative Assistant and the College Registrar and Admissions Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities to include:
Ex officio member of the Educational Enhancement Committee - Helps to plan, organize, schedule and set-up student events hosted by the EEC and Academic Affairs Office. Includes acquisition of caterers, menu, and location, purchase of food and/or supplies, and assisting set-up and clean up. Events include: White Coat Ceremony, Scrubb'in-In Ceremony, Ice Cream Appreciation Day, Mentor-Mentee lunch and Finals Breakfasts. Helps assign mentors/advisors with help of EEC
Assists Associate Dean and Director of Diversity - Assists panning and implementation of key college events Leadership Camp, Admissions Interviews, Honors Banquet, Graduation Banquet, etc. Helps coordinate schedule and speaker needs for Transitions Course Works in collaboration with Associate Dean's Administrative Assistant Other duties as may be assigned
Course Schedules for students in the 1st - 3rd year of the curriculum. Develops and updates semester class schedules with assistance or in consult with the Associate Dean. Coordinates labs across classes, exam schedules and schedule rooms to accommodate each class for the year. Room Reservations for classes, faculty and outside events or clubs. Supports student enrollment logistics. Assign mailbox, lockers, lab sections to incoming classes Collects orientation information with admissions to develop student address/phone lists, record emergency contact information, format student biographies, provide student data to Admissions, and file.
Offshore Students - help coordinate orientation and certificate celebration process Updates Elective list and maintain video library for elective selections. Provides student advise on electives/ABLES/ and professional curriculum and process Conflict resolution Assists Clubs with event logistics
Assists coordination for ABLES & CE Helps recruit and orient faculty facilitators Helps with distribution and return of ABLES case, assignments, evaluations and grades Helps schedule student groups to ABLES and CE rotations
